pre-searing is the newbie training area. post-searing is where the game really begins. hope it helps a little.

When you hit level 3, all the Ascalon Guards will start telling you to go visit Tydus.. Do it, enter the Academy, and you'll go through a PVP and a short mission.. congrats. You're post-sear.

Make sure you have all the skills your professions can get first though.

after you reach level 3, you will be given the option to join the academy. this leads you through a series of events that leaves you in what is reffered to as "Post Searing Ascalon" at the end.

I'd suggest sticking around in Pre-Sear until you reach about level 5 - 7, then go join the academy

I, on the other hand, advocate getting out of Pre-Sear as quickly as humanly possible so you have some challenge

But y'know.. to each his own.

Default Exhaustion?

I'm sorry but I really didn't know where to go with this. I was wondering(for Elementalists), if exhaustion affects health, magic recouperation, both, or something totally different?

cast a spell without exhaustion and you'll see a darker blue background where the mp you used was

if you cast a spell with exhaustion the dark blue bar will be reduced(it shows your max mp) it slowly regenerates back to full

Most spells that cause it are worth using
